Terms of Use
Version 2026-10-v1 · Last updated: [DATE]
These terms apply to the use of the muso app and the website yourmuso.app. The German version is the legally binding one; this English version is a courtesy translation.
1. Who I am
The provider is [FIRST NAME LAST NAME]; address and contact details are in the legal notice. In these terms, that is "I".
2. What muso is
muso is an app in which you create and manage knitting and crochet patterns, follow projects, record your materials and tools, and share patterns with others.
muso is currently free and in a test phase. There may be errors, and features may change or be removed. There is no entitlement to the app being available at all times or without interruption.
If I later introduce paid features, separate terms will apply, which I will show you beforehand. Which features remain free at that point is something I will decide then and announce beforehand.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You provide a real email address at registration and keep your details up to date.
- You may have one account and do not share your credentials.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings. Deletion is permanent and immediate. What is deleted is described in the privacy policy.
4. Your content
You keep your rights. Everything you post in muso (patterns, texts, images, projects, ratings and so on) remains yours.
What you allow me. So that muso works, you grant me a simple, non-exclusive, worldwide right to store your content, process it technically (for example to resize images) and display it as set by your visibility settings. The right lasts as long as the content is with muso and ends when you delete the content or your account. A pattern's version history belongs to the pattern and is deleted with it.
Visibility. You decide who can see patterns, projects and folders. What you publish can be seen by other users, together with your username and profile picture.
You assure that you have the rights to your content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. This applies especially to patterns: only upload or import patterns that you wrote yourself or for which you have the author's permission. You confirm this before every import.
5. What is not allowed
muso has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for users who abuse others. Not allowed are:
- unlawful content and content that infringes copyright, trademark or other rights,
- hate, incitement, discrimination, insults, threats, harassment and bullying,
- violence, glorification of violence and content encouraging self-harm,
- sexual and pornographic content and any depiction of minors in a sexual context,
- deception, fraud, false identities and impersonation,
- other people's personal data without their permission,
- spam, advertising unrelated to knitting and crochet, chain letters,
- malware, circumventing security features, automated scraping and overloading the app.
6. Reporting and moderation
Reporting. If you notice content or an account that violates these terms or is unlawful, write to hi@yourmuso.app. Identify the content (link, or title and username) and briefly state the reason. You can also report other people's patterns, projects, folders, profiles and reviews directly in the app through the respective menu, stating a reason and a note.
Blocking. You can block users. You then no longer see their profiles and content, they can no longer follow you and can no longer review your patterns. Mutual follows are removed when you block. Under Settings, "Blocked users", you can lift a block again. Blocking does not replace a report.
How I respond. I review every report and act on violations within 24 hours. Depending on severity, I may remove content, restrict its visibility, warn you, or suspend or delete your account. For serious or repeated violations I suspend accounts permanently.
Reasons and appeal. If I remove content or restrict an account, I will tell you why. You can appeal by email, and I will review the decision again.
Rights holders. If you are the author and your pattern is in muso without permission, report it the same way.
7. AI pattern import
When importing from PDF or photos, the recognized text is sent to an AI service (Anthropic, USA) for analysis. The result may contain errors. You review and correct it before saving or publishing. What is transmitted is described in the privacy policy.
8. Backups
I do not guarantee that lost or deleted content can be restored. Back up patterns that matter to you yourself as well.
9. Liability
- I am liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body and health, and under the Product Liability Act.
- For simple negligence I am liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation (one you can rely on when using muso), and then only for foreseeable, typical damage.
- Any further liability is excluded. Statutory claims under the General Data Protection Regulation remain unaffected.
- Users are themselves responsible for their content.
10. Changes and termination
Changes to the terms. If I change these terms materially, I will inform you in the app or by email and ask for your consent again. If you do not agree, you cannot continue to use the app afterwards, but you can delete your account.
Termination by you. You can stop using muso and delete your account at any time.
Termination by me. For violations I can suspend or delete your account (see section 6). I can discontinue the service as a whole and will announce this with reasonable notice so you can back up your content.
11. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for muso. For the license to the app through the App Store, Apple's standard terms also apply.
12. Final provisions
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected. If a provision is invalid, the others remain valid.
I do not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before consumer arbitration boards.
